Calling for Food Justice and Resilience Amidst SNAP Crisis
FLOWS and key grassroots partners wrote a letter to fundraise collaboratively. We are calling in philanthropy to support mutual aid and community-led efforts in this time of manufactured crisis. The SNAP (food stamp) withholdings emergency in Nov 2025 are just the tip of the iceberg. The federal administration attempts to permanently reduce this and other crucial safety nets for our communities. It is time for philanthropic leaders to dig deeper and disrupt business as usual to address the current crisis, as well as support more long-term food justice solutions to ensure our community does not go hungry. We can make a powerful long-term impact together!
Our collaborative ask:
1. Collective Local Food Purchasing: Support the Farmer’s Market to supplement No Cost Grocery Programs with local produce.
2. Tienda Voucher Program: Help purchase vouchers to support local “tiendas”, small community grocers, and SNAP participants.
3. Mutual Aid Support: Support the infrastructure of pop-up mutual aid efforts in Boulder County.
4. Long-Term Solutions Visioning: Creating a regenerative food justice, resilience and emergency plan to ensure we are ready to respond now and in the long term.
The Collective Resiliency Response is a collective effort between Boulder Food Rescue, Food Security Network, Longmont Food Rescue, Harvest of All First Nations, Once and Future Green, and FLOWS.
